Special Feast Day Holy Eucharist:
St. James the Apostle
Saturday, July 25th at 12:00 PM
in the Chapel
James, the son of Zebedee and brother of John, was among the first to answer Jesus’ call to be his apostle. Together with Peter and John, James belonged to the intimate circle of three who witnessed key moments in Jesus’ ministry—the raising of Jairus’s daughter, the Transfiguration, and the agony in the Garden of Gethsemane. Known for his zeal and fiery temperament, James earned from Jesus the nickname “Son of Thunder.” Yet that passion was transformed into courage and faithfulness, leading him to become the first of the apostles to suffer martyrdom.
Special Feast Day Holy Eucharist:
St. Mary Magdalene
Wednesday, July 22nd at 12:00 PM
in the Chapel
St. Mary Magdalene was one of the most prominent disciples of Jesus in the New Testament. She was the first to discover the empty tomb on Easter morning and the first to have an encounter with the risen Jesus. St. Mary Magdalene was often referred to as the “Apostle to the Apostles.” She served as a faithful follower of Jesus and supported his ministry financially. St. Mary Magdalene stood by Jesus’ side during the crucifixion, and was sent by Jesus after he had risen from the dead, to proclaim to the apostles that Jesus had risen.
